Lauren Daigle was scheduled to host an exclusive album preview concert for her upcoming project on Monday, March 27. However, in lieu of the tragic shooting that took place that morning at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, TN, she decided to provide the community with a safe space to gather and pray for those affected.

The two-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer and songwriter took to social media to reveal that she had postponed her show and would instead use that time to honor the six lives that were lost, and their family members with a vigil.

“Truly Heartbreaking”

“Today’s shooting is truly heartbreaking for our Nashville community and all of those impacted. I’m going to postpone my performance tonight, and in its place, host a community-wide Prayer Vigil,” Daigle shared in a statement.

She opened up the invitation to all those who were originally planning to attend the show along with anyone else who felt it would bring them comfort to gather with fellow members of the community.

“To everyone who was planning to come out, please continue to come join us as we share in a time of prayer and worship to honor the victims and everyone in need.”

With open arms, she continued to say, “To those in the local Nashville area, if you need a safe place to come pray, mourn, and be with your community, please join us. The doors are open for all. Same location. Same time. With all my love and support, Lauren Daigle.”

A clip from the vigil shared to Instagram, showcasing a powerful performance of the Christian hymn, “How Great Thou Art.”

In the same post on Daigle’s feed, another statement was shared, revealing that her concert has been postponed to Wednesday, April 5, and will still be held at the same location, Marathon Music Works. Everyone who got tickets for the original date will still be able to attend the rescheduled concert.

Daigle recently debuted her new single, “Thank God I Do,” which marks her first release via Atlantic Records/Centricity Music. With this release, she also announced her forthcoming self-titled album. Produced by Grammy®-winner, Mike Elizondo, the soulful 20-track project will be unveiled in two parts. The first 10 tracks will arrive May 12, and the other ten will drop later this year.

“This is my most precious project,” Daigle shares, “It’s got fun moments, solemn moments, extrovert moments and introvert moments. And I’m just thrilled about taking my songwriting further on this record than anything I’ve done previously.”

New Album Coming Soon

The full-length album is also slated to feature co-writes with Natalie Hemby, Shane McAnally, Amy Wadge, Lori McKenna, Jason Ingram, Jon Greene, and more.

The highly-anticipated project will follow her 2018, GRAMMY Award-winning, platinum-certified album, Look Up Child, which includes the 5x platinum-certified breakthrough hit, “You Say.”

Look Up Child debuted at No. 3 on the Top 200 Albums chart. This made Daigle the first female artist in history to simultaneously hit the Top 10 on both Billboard’s Pop and Christian Album charts.

In the fall of 2023, she will take her music out on the road for a 30-city US arena tour. The Kaleidescope Tour launches September 6 in Memphis, TN and will include stops in Boston, Atlanta, and Seattle as well as cities in which Daigle hasn’t performed in nearly four years, including Baton Rouge, Baltimore and Tulsa.

“I am pumped to announce some good news to y’all,” she began in a video posted to social media. “I don’t know what you’re gonna be doing in the fall, but what I’m gonna be doing in the fall is touring. I’m finally coming probably to city near you. I cannot wait. I’ve been waiting for you guys to hear this music live and in person and it’s gonna be really, really special.”
